The team at Rare had already established themselves as marque video game developers by the mid 90’s. Previous titles like Battletoads, Knight Lore and Sabre Wulf had earned the company’s founders Tim and Chris Stamper critical acclaim. Perspective Review
In response to the some of the points raised in the article that I posted a link to earlier in the week, I would like to use Perspective an indie game produced by students at Digipen University to counter some of the author’s arguments. The article is written by Liel Leibovitz who is an assistant professor of digital media at NYU and the content of the piece looks to debate the question that has being asked countless times throughout the video game industries brief history.
